    Hello, I have a computer that is running windows 10, a 250GB SSD and two 2 TB HD raid set up. The main user on the system had all systems, downloads, games going to the 250GB SSD instead of the 2TB storage. It ended up filling up totally, and now the blue screen of death bad_sys_config_info prevents a start up. I've done all of the manual gui repairs that you can do, I've done some of the command prompt fixes you can try like the system 32 commands, or the bcd edit stuff. I'm familiar but not versed in windows at all, I have more linux knowledge, albeit not much, but did confirm with a bootable USB of linux that the hard drive itself is working properly. Is there anyway to use command prompt and clean up some space on the SSD? What commands can I try?

    How can I repair a bad sys config. My pc will not boot up.

    My video card went bad. I just replaced it and now my PC will not boot. I'm using my wife's pc to send info. It tells me something about a bad sys config. I have an ssd.

    Bad Config Info error

    Good day.

    I am attempting to resolve a Bad Config Info error on a laptop. I tried the bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd and it comes back with results "Total Identified Windows Installations: 0" What would be the most appropriate next step?

    Bad System Config Info

    Hi John,

    Thanks so much for your suggestion. Sadly, the fixes did not work, and I'm still getting "bad system config info."

    MS support is still not honoring phone calls reserved in advance/promises to call back in a few minutes-- must say I'm disappointed.

    Any further ideas?
