  1. SSD not showing in BIOS and continuously entering BIOS and not exiting

I recently installed windows 11 in my laptop System Model ROG Strix G531GT_G531GT which was window 11 eligible laptop model. Installation was fine, but when I shutdown the pc and started again later it directly went to BIOS, I tried save and exit, retore to default, SATA management to ASCI which was the only option but nothing worked. It was not showing my ssd inside bios configurations. I opened my laptop, disconnected the battery pin and rebooted again, it got started, windows 11 was loaded. But aftertime I shutdown the pc the same problem occurred. I tried the battery procedure then it st

  2. BIOS SSD Priority

I am going to change out my HDD to a SSD. Right now the BIOS does not have a SSD listed in the BIOS boot priority. Does the SSD show up in the BIOS after the SSD is plugged in? Or is there some command prompt that I can use to add SSD prior to plugging in the SSD?

  3. SSD working properly, not showing up in boot order in BIOS

I'm currently still on Windows 10, as I performed a roll-back by wiping my SSD and using a third-party data migration tool to move an older version of Windows 10 to the SSD.

As of right now, Windows UEFI reads my storage and states my drive is healthy, will show up as the main boot drive on BIOS settings, and Windows will launch correctly so as long as my HDD is disabled or unmounted. However, once I enable the HDD, the system forcibly launches from the HDD. I go into BIOS to change boot order, and the SSD is not listed in the available drives to boot. From there, if I exit without changing or saving any settings in BIOS, the system then somehow automatically jumps to the SSD as intended.

In summary, it appears as though my computer will not boot from my SSD unless I unmount/disable the factory HDD, or if I launch either the BIOS or UEFI and exit without changing anything.

SSD not showing in BIOS and continuously entering BIOS and not exiting

SSD is not detected in BIOS

    Hi Joey,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand how difficult it could be. However, could you please let us know was there any major change on your system prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to follow the methods mentioned below and check if it resolves the issue.

    Method 1: Change BIOS settings.

    1. As you have mentioned, you are able to boot the system in safe boot, restart the system and enter
      BIOS setup.
    2. Expand System Configuration and click on
      SATA Operation.
    3. Change the SATA Operation mode to AHCI from either IDE or RAID.
    4. Save changes or Apply
      and ExitSetup.
    5. Reboot once more and Windows will automatically start the AHCI drivers.

BIOS Disclaimer: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer
from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

After following the steps above, if the SSD is being detected. Please follow
    Method 2.

Method 2: Rebuild BCD from command prompt (This method needs bootable media).

If the bootable media is not created, you can refer this link to

    Create Windows 10 installation media
, please refer this section on 'Using the tool to create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) to install Windows 10 on a different PC' for the steps to create installation
    media.

    1. Insert the bootable media for Windows 10, and restart your PC.
    2. Press on any key to proceed.
    3. Select a language and click on
      Next.
    4. Click on Repair your computer option.
    5. Click the operating system that you want to repair and then click
      Next.
    6. On the Choose an option screen, select
Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    7. Type BOOTREC /FIXMBR, and then press
      ENTER.
    8. Type BOOTREC /FIXBOOT, and then press
      ENTER.
    9. Type BOOTREC /SCANOS, and then press
      ENTER.
    10. Type BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD, and then press
      ENTER.
    11. Restart your PC.

    Regards.
