Windows 10: SSD unable to initialize in disk management. error message "The Semaphore timeout period...

I recently purchased an ssd docking station as my motherboard has no room for a second ssd and the ssd I had bought for my ps5 has too many issues with the console so I decided to use it for my PC. Here's the problem. The good news is my pc detects the ssd as it makes the detection sound and the dock lights up, but the bad and confusing news is that when I attempt to initilize the disk partison as the ssd was not online as it is listed as unknown and unallocated, it loads for a bit then pops an error message saying "The semaphore timeout period has expired" and I have no idea what it means or

So I had an issue with this external HDD a few days ago. It simply was not showing up and I still have no idea how it fixed. That thread is here:

Now the same drive is doing something a little different.



I'd backed up a large portion of my files and when I went to back up the rest I started getting this error.

Unlike before the HDD is showing up. I'm guessing it has something to do with my partitions.
When I bring up partition wizard I don't see the HDD there:



Unless I'm missing something....which I very likely am.

Macrium Reflect Clone - The semaphore timeout period has expired

Hi there,

I was using Macrium Reflect to clone my boot disk to a USB attached SSD. The SSD was originally formatted as a Windows 7 boot disk out of my laptop. When I setup the clone, I had Macrium delete the three partitions on the SSD.

About 10 minutes into the operation, Macrium Reflect said it couldn't find the external disk and "Clone Failed - error 8".

I tried cloning again on the same computer and on another and got the same error.

I looked at the USB SSD on three different computers using Windows 10 Disk Manager. Disk Manager says the disk is not initialized so told it to initialize by formatting as MBR or Partition and after a minute or two comes back with "The semaphore timeout period has expired".

Seems like the SSD is "bricked" somehow as there is nothing I can do to access it.

Any ideas of what could have happened?
