Windows 10: SSD wont boot from a new Dell Precision 3440 machine running windows 10 Version 21H1 for...

I have a dell Precision 3440 with SSD running windows 10. For the last few months, the SSD wont boot even though the computer starts up. To get the SSD to hoot, I have unplug all cables into the computer, discharge the on/off switch, then power up the computer, the plug all the cables in after the computer and the SSD are running. I have reached out to Dell and their tech replaced the mother board, but the problem still exists. Could this be a OS problem? Any suggestions how it can be fixed?

How to add SSD as boot disk on new Dell XPS 8700 with Windows 10?

Goal: Add a Samsung EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD and make it the boot disk for a new Dell 8700 running pre-installed Windows 10.

Questions:

• 
  Do I have to change the BIOS from IRST to AHCI?
  
• 
  Can I transfer the OS from the original C: drive to the SSD via
  
  EasyUS Todo Backup?
  
• 
  Do I need the Windows installation disks?
  

Background:

Using a StarTEC USB 3.0 to 2.5 SATA III Hard Drive adapter cable, I connected the new SSD to the new Dell 8700 via USB. The Dell transfer tools, and Dell Navigator, did not recognize the SSD. I later read a post that said that these Dell tools did
not yet work with Windows 10. As suggested in another post, I did get the transfer to work using EasyUS Todo. I copied Windows 10 to the SSD. I then installed it internally in one of the empty drive bays. Windows 10 file manager recognized the drive and I
was able to see that Windows was indeed copied on it.

But, before I change the Boot Sequence to start with the SSD, I would like to know if the OS transfer will indeed work and\or whether the BIOs needs to be changed from IRST to AHCI (if yes, how).

Finally, Windows disks, usually orderable from PC manufacturers, are not yet available from Dell. Alternatively, the “create USB recovery disk” goes in an endless loop even though I am trying to create one using a new 32GB San Disk USB drive.

Any other things I need to do in order to make this SSD boot configuration to work?

Problem Installing Windows 10 Pro to New Samsung 860 EVO V-NAND SSD on a Dell Precision M3510

I made a bootable USB for Windows 10 Pro from the Microsoft site and installed a new 500GB Samsung 860 EVO V-NAND SSD in a Dell Precision M3510.

I put the flash drive in a USB port, and changed the BIOS boot sequence to look first for the USB drive.

After powering on the laptop, I got the following error messages:

1. Media test failure

2. No boot device found

Assuming the new SSD is good, what needs to change?

 

New windows 10 installtion on New SSD - wont boot unless old SSD present

It seems you installed Windows while the both SSDs were connected. This would have caused your current problem. Maybe it is sufficient to do this:

1. Launch the Disk Manager.
2. Right-click drive C:, then mark it as "active".
3. Shut down Windows
4. Open the BIOS and tell it that the new SSD is the primary boot device.
5. Disconnect the old SSD.
6. Boot up normally.

If this does not work then you might have to do this:

1. Disconnect the old SSD.
2. Re-install Windows on the new SSD, using the Media Creation Tool.
