    Hello,I asked the same question HERE. But I want to reformat and rewrite it to be more windows specific.Setup:I am running an application called Elasticsearch on 3 Windows machines with 1x 2TB SSD in each machine. This SSD is only dedicated to this one application, nothing else is running on it. The application is writing about 50Kbyte per second 1.5TB a year on the disk. Problem:1.5TB a year are no problem for an SSD. The problem is $LogFile and $Mft are writing 780Kbytes/s all the time. This comes down to around 3GB/hour or 26TB/year. Thats 15-20x times more than our application is produci

    LogViewer for GPU-Z available !

    I tried Nvidia Inspector (which is very close to GPU-Z), but it logs with a different column delimiter. With the following steps you can "convert" a Nvidia Inspector logfile into a GPU-Z logfile:

    • open Nvidia Inspector logfile (typically "NVIDIA_Inspector-MonitoringLog_....csv") in a good text-editor (UltraEdit ,...)
    • find/replace column delimiter: find all semicolon ';' and replace them with comma ',' (in a good text editor you can do this in one step "replace all")
    • save changed logfile with extension ".txt"
    Now you can open the saved logfile as a "GPU-Z logfile" !

    Location of MFT and MFT Zone

    Hi,

    when system starts, ntfs.sys driver tries to allocate MFT zone just after last MFT fragment. If this is impossible MFT zone is located in any suitable place on disk.

    Please note, MFT zone have no physical representation in file system terms, it exists only due ntfs.sys attempts to optimize possible MFT increasing.

    Hi

    I am using an HP Laptop running Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version 1909 recently updated..

    I use Raxco Perfect Disc 14 Professional to defrag my hard disc drive and note that recently the visual display of the Hard Drive Blocks which it provides show that the MFT Blocks are no longer adjoined by the MFT Zone.

    Should it be the case that the MFT Blocks should precede the MFT Zone (which I assume is free space for MFT to expand without fragmentation.

    Do I have a problem with my Windows 10.
