Windows 10: Standard Calculator Change?

Until recently, I was always able to see each entry as a string across the top. Now, the calculator is treating each entry as if I'm hitting the equal sign and making it an individual calculation with no relationship to the one before it or after it. What changed? Anyone have an insight? Any suggestions for bringing back the successive entries? Thanks, Janice.

Windows 10 Standard Calculator not using standard order of operations

Hi,

We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10.

This issue may arise if you are using Standard calculator.

Try the below steps:

• 
  Open the Calculator through Start menu.
  
• 
  Once you open, click on menu button (Three horizontal lines at top left corner).
  
• 
  Select Scientific calculator.
  
• 
  Now type 1+2*3, it will give the answer as 7.
  

Note: There will be different way of operations integrated into Standard and Scientific calculators.

Microsoft calculator standard bug

The Windows calculator is not a scientific calculator. It is a calculator meant for everyday use by people who are not scientists. If it pleases you then you can call it a bug but in view of the fact that the calculator has been like this for the last 30
years, your chances are slim that Microsoft will change its input mode from sequential to scientific.

 

Windows 10 Calculator app gets always on top and compact mode features

Why not make a suggestion on the Feedback Hub.

I think this is a step in the right direction. I use Calculator daily.
