Windows 10: Standard User only to Login

I have a laptop (Windows 10) that only offers one user to log in. That user is a standard user so I can not change anything. When I go to the command prompt and run net user I have the following accounts:

admin
Administrator

DefaultAccount

defaultuser0

Guest

Owner

WDAGUtilityAccount


I can see in windows that the only listed users are:

admin

defaultuser0

Owner

Public


So I know there is a hidden account called Administrator.

When I click in the admin account from inside Windows 10 it says "You don't currently have permission to access this folder. Click continue to permanently get access to this folder." When I click continue a window pops up that saks id I wan the app to make changes to the device. It says, "To continue enter the admin user name and password by the only button choice is NO there is no yes.

Standard user allow to change time

Hello,

I suggest you to change the account type from Standard to Administrator and check if it works.

Here are the steps:

Login to your Admin account.

In search type User Account and hit enter.

Click on Manage another account.

Select your Standard user account and click on change the account type.

From this page select Administrator and click on Change account type.

After doing this switch user from Admin account to Standard user account and try to change the date and time.

Hope this works.

 

User Account Control - Remove Standard User

I request you to login to built-in admin account and check if you are able to remove the standard user account.

Steps to Enable Built-In Administrator account.

  Select Command prompt (Admin).

  Type “net user administrator /active:yes”.
  
• 
  Once you’re done, you can access your built-in administrator account by logging off your current account anytime.

w10 can't login as standard user

Machine is a W8-w10 home upgrade - was working and as I recall uninstalled wildtangent games and changed permissions on chrome.exe around the time this started. Since returned Chrome.exe to it's original permissions.

In all cases a standard/local user returns "Welcome" then immediately goes to "Signing Out"

This occurs with new or existing users and changing them to Administrator privilege does enable logins.

also cannot login in safe mode with networking as local/standard user

tried copying c:/Users/Default folder from working W10 machine - same result adding a user with the new "Default" folder

confirmed user in question has full privileges in their respective home directories

saw a registry edit trick binging this problem but I'm hoping some wizard out there has a better idea before trying that
