I can't upload any screenshot here, because its not allowing me to. but in case you want to see it I also made a post on my X account https://x.com/djentxocore/status/1739224453232705914?s=20 sam time as now December 25, 2023 - around 6pm Manila timeThe issue is with my RAM, the standby memory uses 60 - 70% of RAM space 20+GB, while my active In Use ram is about 25% 6+GB. it just happened recently, I have not notice this standby ram usage before until my games started crashing annoyingly more often. But still, i can ignore these cause I think it was just the game lagging util

  2. Standby Memory Causes Crashes

    Hello Aileen,

I did in fact post the question with more detailed specifics on the Microsoft Technet forums here:

    See Thread Here

So far no one has been able to turn standby memory off and the option you suggested, turning it off from the BIOS/UEFI settings, there is no such setting. I don't need the computer manufacturer to run through all the possible screens of the BIOS and determine
that such an option does not exist.

When a game or a program wishes to write to RAM, the amount of FREE space is reported to the program, and only if the amount of FREE space is sufficient, does the program WRITE to RAM, else it throws an out of memory error. Seeing that standby memory is
only freed if the program WRITES to RAM, the amount of free space would be less that free space + standby memory so the program will NEVER write to RAM if the standby memory is there. Standby memory is not free memory!!! Why on God's good earth would I want
to keep something loaded into RAM after I close it instead of freeing the memory for the next application I run?

It's not too hard to ask. When a program is closed, GET IT OUT OF RAM. Leave my RAM FREE. The hypothetical benefits of preloading only work for people who have less than 8GB of programs (the amount of RAM they have installed). The non facebook/youtube junkies
who have more than 8GB of programs installed (the graphic designers, the gamers, the programmers) need the RAM free!! How much more will I have to crash and black screen before Microsoft realizes its mistake? When a program is done with a block of memory,
    FREE IT GODDAMMIT

    Sincerely,

    A frustrated gamer/programmer.

  3. Standby Memory Causes Crashes

    Dear Microsoft,

You know what's annoying? When you have 8GB of RAM, an i7 processor and 2x NVIDIA GPU's with an SSD... and your game or photoshop crashes BECAUSE YOU RAN OUT OF MEMORY. Opening task manager, only 3 GB used
but 5 F***ng GB of memory is in standby. I know you're going to hit me **** about how it theoretically speeds up app opening for apps you're LIKELY to use, but what's the sense when THE APP YOU'RE 100% USING RIGHT NOW crashes because ohh, that program you
have a 10% chance of using needs the memory more. I don't care how's it's SUPPOSED to work, IT DOESN'T FREE THE STANDBY MEMORY WHEN YOUR APP NEEDS RAM!!! It doesn't work like you intended it to! It causes crashes!! Programs see FREE MEMORY ONLY and crash
with out of memory errors because AN APP I USED A WEEK AGO IS in standby. The cached code isn't freed when your game requests more ram!!! Even photoshop crashes to a black screen.

PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, BEFORE I GO INSANE, please, I want to DISABLE STANDBY MEMORY. I have an SSD. I will load the program when I launch it from disk. Give me the option to disable standby memory. Just
put the feature in and see how many of us users will disable standby memory. We are the free thinkers of the world. We don't use facebook/chrome and youtube exclusively all our life. All over the internet, thousands of people are having this same problem and
NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. I've never asked Microsoft for a feature before, so please. I don't like crashing and having to open RamMap to clear standby memory all the time...

    Sincerely,

    A frustrated gamer/programmer

  4. Standby RAM consumes spaces that causes my games/applications crash for no reasons.

Application (game) update -> not enough free space problem

I have downloaded game "asphalt 8: airborne" for my lumia 620. It offered me an update yesterday. During update installation, the process crashed because of full phone's internal memory.

Now, I can neither uninstall the application, nor finish the update. Application takes 2.2 GB, update temp file 1 GB (I have removed that to have at least 1 GB of free space) and my phone has full memory :-(

Any suggestion how to remove/successfully update the game (uninstall is not available in the list of games)?

(This is clearly WP8 critical error -> when application update fails, you cannot either remove it, nor use it... when the reason is "not enough space" you are screwed & I don't see any other solution then hard reset)
