Windows 10: Star icon in Windows Character Map/ASCII Code - I found

I was looking for the star icons in the Windows Character Map and in the ASCII codes, but couldn't easily find them. I saw I many complaints about the star icons no longer being available in the ASCII characters. After searching through quite a few fonts in the Character Map, I was able to find the white star and black star under several different fonts. One of the larger and nicer looking sets of stars can be found in the MingLiU font below, characters, U+2605 and U+2606 . I hope this helps someone!

ALT key ASCII code

There is no ASCII character associated with the Alt key. Search for information on keyboard scan codes. The Alt key modifies the scan code before any mapping of scan codes to character codes is done.

Adding a Character

If you have a full keyboard [number pad on the right] use Alt+156 to insert it.

A lot may depend upon which Font is being used in the Character Map.
