    Start apps

I hope I can get an answer on this subject. I believe I made a post on it, but can't find it anywhere and no responses.

I had to do a factory restoral to my PC (desktop) and have restored most of what is important to me. Before the restoral, when I clicked on Start, the page that opened took up about 80% of my desktop which I liked because it allowed me to rearrange my apps to various sites and group like items together. Now, after the restoral, when I click on Start, what opens is all my apps and other programs, etc. but it is small - about 15% of my desktop in the lower left side of the desktop.

What I'd like to know is - can the page with all my apps be expanded like it was before - about 80% of my desktop. If I try to expand it, like before by placing my cursor on the lower left corner and expand, it doesn't work.

Also, I'd like to know how to be able relocate the apps. I now how to Name a group, but I can't move apps to that group. If I right click on one, nothing happens, If I left click, the app opens.

I'd appreciate any help on this. If more info is needed, please let me know.

    Thanks

    :)

NEWLY added apps are not showing on Start App list

    Hi Tamal,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    1. Is Cortana able to search the apps installed?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    • Type Start Settings in Search and hit
      Enter.
    • Turn on Show recently added apps in jump list of Start of Taskbar.

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thanks

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Start apps :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
