Windows 10: start button changes in W11

Before Windows 11, the start button was at the lower left corner. Very comfortable. I can’t seem to move it back there. Is it possible?Also in the past, I was able to click the start button, move up to shut down and that was all. Now, I have to click on start, move to a symbol, click again, and only then can I shut down. This is a small effort, but it is incredibly annoying. Why would M-soft take something that worked well and easily, then changed it to require the user to do more work? Maybe I don’t understand something. Can someone help?

Method 1: Run the SFC.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
  
• 
  Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
  

Also, I suggest you to check for the Windows updates and see if you are able to access Windows Defender.

Steps:

• Press Windows key and type Windows update.
• select check for updates and install all the pending updates.

Start Button

• When you say "Start button", are you referring to the physical power button or the Start menu on your desktop?
• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• Are you getting an error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
• Can you tell us what troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve this?
• What happens when you press the Start button?

Start Button displaying but not working


The start button was working until there was a forced reboot (power failure). Then left click (normal click) over the start button does absolutely nothing. Right click brings up a menu but "programs" and also "settings" are missing and not included on this list. Search or Task View buttons do not work either with "normal" click. Does anyone have any suggestion or fixes?
