    Start Menu folder thumbnails not displaying correctly after unplugging ex. HDDs and restarting


    https://imgur.com/8yV79uk Most of the programs on my start menu come from external HDDs when I unplug them and take my laptop to college, they begin to look like that. Once at home, I plug the HDDs again and restart, but the icons are fixed only occasionally and I'm not sure how. How do I get my icons back or how do I prevent them turning blank in the first place?

    Also, the icons inside the folder are fine, but the folders themselves are the issue.
