    Recently the start menu launches whenever I log in. I'm happy to use it when I want to by clicking the start button, but launching on its own I dont want.Is there a setting to change this?

    Windows 10 Issues: settings menu, start menu crashes, Steam won't launch.

    Hi Parth,

    I have come across this support blog as I have been having similar issues with the start menu crashing.

    I can log on to windows 10 but Explorer is no longer in the task bar. When I go to the Start Menu a critical error occurs telling me that "Your Start Menu isn't working. We'll try to fix it the next time your log in" It then logs me out. When I log in again
    the same thing happens.

    I have tried sf/scannow- no issue found and no change in the problem.

    I have tried DISM ScanHealth, but this found no problem. It wouldn't run the restore health, telling me it did not exist.

    I have tried to log in to another local account on the computer, but it tells me the user profile cannot be loaded.

    Any thoughts?

    As per the description of the issue, you are unable to open both Windows Settings and Start menu. For us to resolve this issue, we suggest that you perform troubleshooting. Here's an

    To resolve Windows Settings issue, kindly follow the steps listed below:

    • Boot into Safe Mode.
    • Open a command prompt windows.
    • Type sfc/scannow, and then hit Enter.
    • Once it's finished, restart the computer to check if the issue still persists.

    start menu launching when I log in

    Windows 10 Start menu is empty

    Hi. Steps 1 and 2 didn't do much but step 3 has restored what looks like the list of original Microsoft apps but no sign of any of the many apps I have installed. And there are no tiles in the start menu. Any suggestions please?
