Windows 10: Start Menu on Secondary Monitor.

Hello, because of my job i have a crazy 4 monitor setup. My main monitor in the windows settings is the middle one but i moved the main task bar to the top monitor. Everything is working fine and like intendet. The only thing that really really enoyes me is that when i click on the "Home/Start" button it opens on my main screen not on my screen where the main taskbar is. Are there any solutions for that? I just want my Home menu to open on that screen where the main taskbar is, not on the main screen.

Single monitor=no transparency in Start menu on dual monitor system

Hello, I can't find any information about this one so here it goes.

My Windows 10 is a dual monitor system and I don't get this problem when both monitors are enabled but when I game I disable the secondary display and then on the primary display the Start menu will lose transparency. It makes me sad.

I have installed color profiles for both displays and set them as primary profile for each one. I have also calibrated the color of both displays.

Primary display is AOC 2460 connected with DVI-D

Secondary display is Acer G246HL Connected with HDMI

Graphics card is Nvidia Gerforce 1050 TI 4GB and it has latest drivers

Operating system is Windows 10 Pro v. 1803 (OS-build 17.134.228)

Steps to reproduce:

• On dual monitor system disable secondary monitor
• Open Start menu and transparency will be lost

Additional information:

CPU overclocked with multiplier but was at Stock settings when OS was installed

GPU overclocked with Asus GPU Tweak II

Hey.....I /just/ found something, using UltraMon 3.3.0, that will help with a step in the right direction. UltraMon 3.3.0 has the ability to hide the start menu on all secondary monitors. click here:

It works. I am looking at my secondary monitor as I type this and the start menu is not showing. I am still working on finding something to remove the sys clock from the secondary taskbars. But, as mentioned, it /is/ a step in the right direction.

We appreciate your response and the information provided. We suggest that you follow these troubleshooting steps and see if they help:

• Start a CMD window (Windows-X, Command Prompt)
• Then type in C:\windows\system32\tdlrecover.exe -reregister -resetlayout -resetcache

Reboot is not required but a quick reboot may clear up any residual issues after the command is run.

Disclaimer: Corruption recovery removes any manual pins from
Start menu. Apps should still be visible, but you’ll need to re-pin any secondary tiles and/or pin app tiles to the main Start view.
