    Start-MpScan takes a long long time on a small file


    A Windows forum user asked why running Start-MpScan on a file took so long.


    So I ran a test. I gave it a 300kb .jpg image. Powershell as Admin, Start-MpScan -ScanPath ./image.jpg

    and .. voom... it took 30 seconds.


    30 seconds? On an i7 with 32gb and a NVidia 2xxx series and an empty SSD?


    Why does a single file scan take so long? Docs does not provide any clues.

    Windows 10 takes long time to start from login screen

    I upgraded my system to Windows 10 today. When I log in, it takes a long time to start . The small image goes round and round for a long time and after entering the password also it takes a long time to show the screen. Please advice how to correct this

    Long Loading Time for Lock Screen

    Hello Pawan, thank you for the reply!

    I've tried all of the steps that you've given me. Unfortunately, none of them made a difference except for the clean boot step. It didn't completely solve the problem, however I did notice a
    slightly faster load time for the lock screen. However, it still takes an unusually long time to load it. Any other suggestions?

    Long pause during start up

    That gives a list of items that will start, but not when and how long they took.
