  1. Start-up Automatic Repair - incorrect password, cannot proceed with advanced options

Hello,Today my laptop wouldn't boot up error screen shows srt trail log file, in the automatic start-up repair menu I cannot run any options cmd, system restore, uninstall updates due to the account password being incorrect. I'm logged into the same account on my phone and checked the password, I was typing it correctly. I changed the keyboard layout, typed it in again and again, but nothing helped and it says "password incorrect" every time. I cannot log in by using safe mode. Automatic start-up repair option restarts the computer but doesn't fix the issue. Please advise, I'm trying not to

    :)

    Automatic Repair Advanced Options

You may wish to find a friend to help you. Fixing things can be daunting first time round. What I suggested is far more appropriate - consider - if your disk is faulty (it may not be) - you'd be wasting your time restoring image backups. So checking it is your first priority. If ok: This is the most straightforward of those steps:
    a. run Macrium Reflect on another PC b. insert a blank flash drive c. Click here:

Now plug that disk into your problem PC and boot it from that external disk. Use this option:

There are Youtube videos too. There. That's one of them in some detail for you.

Critical Service Failed - Automatic Repair and Advanced Options

    Update:
Tried the Repair disk. Still back to "Your pc ran into a problem", "Preparing automatic repair" followed by Advanced Options which have been tried again.

    Would anyone recommend:
    • bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
    • bootrec.exe /fixmbr
    • bootrec.exe /fixboot

Otherwise, I have a bootable Win PE file waiting to be burned on to USB key, as suggested by other Forum user, but unsure what to do with it when (or if) it boots up the laptop.

Automatic repair, says wrong password and cant open cd

    Hi Patrik Husander Larsson,

Welcome to the Microsoft community and thank you for asking your question in the community!

Based on your description, I understand that you are unable to start Auto Repair and then you are prompted with an incorrect password, and you think that this may be due to the update you installed that is preventing you from starting. Here I suggest you try to enter safe mode to uninstall the update, here are the steps to enter safe mode:

    • When you turn on the computer, press and hold the power button (for about 5 seconds). (Repeat this action more than 2 times until you see the words "Preparing Automatic Repair")

    • Press the Advanced Options button.

    • Press the Troubleshoot button.

    • Press the Advanced Options button.

    • Press the Startup Settings button

    • Press the Restart button.

    • Press "4" for Safe Mode.

After entering Safe Mode and opening "Programs and Features", click on "View Installed Updates" in the upper left corner, which is where all the automatically installed Windows updates are. Click "Installation time" to sort by time, select the latest update, click "Uninstall". After uninstallation, restart the computer, if we uninstalled the right things affecting the system, then this time should have been able to enter the system normally.

Please let me know if I have misunderstood. Tell us the results and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,
