    Start up !


    When I turn on my laptop occasionally the "Lenovo" logo comes up, but nothing happens! I normally turn it off again and disconnect everything mouse, printer cable, and cable for broadband and remove battery etc. After replacing everything I then turn on and it's OK for a few more days! I run health checks and Scannow but nothing appears to be wrong so just wondered what would cause this! It has done this for quite a while now.On a positive note, I have noticed that since I updated with KB5017858 a few days ago the login screen comes on quicker, or it appears to do so when it does work!BrianWi

    How do I get the Windows 8.1 start screen in Windows 10?

    Apologies for the late reply.

    I would suggest you to try the following steps:




    • Click Start icon and click Settings

    • Choose Personalization, click on Start

    • Turn on “Use start full screen”

    Windows 10 Start menu is empty

    Hi. Steps 1 and 2 didn't do much but step 3 has restored what looks like the list of original Microsoft apps but no sign of any of the many apps I have installed. And there are no tiles in the start menu. Any suggestions please?
