Windows 10: START window does not clear desktop coming out of sleep

On my Desktop, whenever I go to Start > Power > Sleep , when I come back from Sleep the Start window is still open.
In Windows 7 we came back to a clean desktop. It does this on 3 PCs.

Is this behavior normal?

No internet coming out of sleep after coming out of sleep

I am having the same problem, except my connection is WiFi. The wireless router has been programmed so that the SSID is not broadcast. Whenever the WiFi adapter on my computer is turned off, either manually by me or by turning off the computer, it is unable
to reconnect to the network unless I manually enter in the SSID and password. Once I enter in the information, the WiFi does connect, and then shows multiple network names with 2,3,4,5, etc after it, I'm assuming because I've manually entered in the information
that many times.

It should be noted that I have selected the option that the computer automatically connect even if the SSID is not broadcasting its name and so that it should automatically connect. There are no issues with any of my other devices. It should be noted that
this issue has only begun after the most recent automatic update two days ago. I have tried all of the suggestions above to no avail as my driver is already up-to-date. What else can be done to correct this issue. It is becoming frustrating having to enter
in all of the information every time my computer goes to sleep and then wake up.

Thank you for your response with the current update on the issue.



I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Ethernet network adapter under the Device Manager. Check if it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on
Enter Key.

3. Expand Network Adapter.

4. Right click on the Ethernet or LAN network driver and click on Uninstall.

5. Follow the instruction to uninstall and then restart your computer.

6. It will reinstall the default Ethernet network adapter.

Is your start menu displayed full screen? If so, you could change that.

 

Seems normal, it returns to the state at which you left it; same with Lock.

 

Yes. It is the normal behaviour.
Sleep mode is to put everything in "suspension". When come out from sleep mode, all previously opened windows will be there ready to resume.

 

If that is normal I will live with it.
(even though it is not "normal"!!!!)
