Windows 10: Starting Flight Simulator 2020 on a specific monitor within a multi-monitor setup

Hi all,


I have a 4 monitor setup which includes 2 monitors running 1680 X 1050, one monitor running 1920 X 1080 and a 4K 2560 X 1440 monitor arranged in the following layout:

where:

• Monitor 1 is my "Main Display" 1680 X 1050
• Monitor 2 is the 4K device used for FS2020
• Monitor 3 is a 1920 X 1080 device
• Monitor 4 is a 1680 X 1050 device

Both the 1680 X 1050 monitors will shortly be replaced with 1920 X 1080 devices.


Monitors 3 and 4 are used when I am coding or doing design work that requires extra screen "territory".


All monitors are powered up simultaneously and are available when their associated PC is started.


Most programs start on the Main Display. However, some programs notably legacy Adobe CS4 programs start on the monitor where they were last used. This is the effect that I would like to achieve with FS2020, but have so far failed to do so.


At the moment FS2020 always starts on Monitor 1, and "powers-up" in 1920 X 1080 FHD mode.

If I move the Simulator window to the 4K monitor and attempt to set its screen resolution to a value compatible with the 4K monitor, the highest resolution allowed by the FS2020 settings routines is 1680 X 1050, the resolution of my Main Display. The monitor is being fed by a GTX1060 card.


My questions are as follows ... given the above background:

• Can Flight Simulator 2020 use the full resolution of my 4K machine?

• Is it's maximum after-start resolution limited to the resolution of the display on which it started?

• If starting FS2020 on the 4K machine allows it to use the 2560 X 1440 resolution, how can I force FS2020 to start on the 4K display - is there a registry setting that would facilitate this, or perhaps a command line that I could use to start the program on the 4K monitor without using "normal" Windows start mechanisms?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Flight Simulator multi monitor

I have 3 monitors that I use with Flight simulator 2020. The problem is when I stretch the view over all 3, the view out the side monitors gets very skewed and not at all realistic. How do I fix this?

Will Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 support a monitor with 32:9 aspect ratio, e.g. Samsung Odyssey G9?

 

Will Microsoft Flight Simulator support multiple monitors?

Will Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 support multiple monitors?

For example, one monitor for instruments, another for front view, one for left, and one for right?

This is opposed to one view being spread over two monitors.
