starting or restarting windows 10 signs into my administrators account automatically

When I start my computer from a cold boot or when I restart my computer from either my regular account or my administrator account, Windows 10 starts up my computer and signs into my administrators account without any input from me, I don't even type in the password or pin number.

This is an obvious security concern and I need to address it asap. I noticed it starting to happen 2 days ago, March 22 2021. I didn't make any significant changes to my computer. I have been trying different fixes for a game that stopped launching from Steam but I haven't tried any new fixes for 2 weeks so I don't think that would have anythint to do with this recent issue. I don't know what information I can give except what I already have. Has anyone else had this issue with their Windows 10 system? If you need any more information please let me know and I can send post it here.

    Thank you

    :)

Signing in into Administrator accounts causes automatic sign in into all other local accounts

    Hi,

We need to clarify a few things first for us to know why your other accounts are being logged in even when signing in to your own account only. Kindly answer these questions:

    • Can you please explain to us what you mean by "signing in into Administrator accounts causes automatic sign in into all other local accounts"?
    • How did you know that your other account on the computer are also signed in? We recommend that you post a screenshot of the issue here for us to further investigate your concern.
    • When did the issue start?
    • Were there any changes made on your computer before encountering the issue?
    • Does the same scenario occur when logging in to other account?
    • What is the OS Build of your Windows 10? To know the build of your Windows 10, follow these steps:
      • Click the Windows logo (Start button).
      • Click gear icon (Settings).
      • Select System.
      • On the left pane, choose About.

Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup

Hello sciencegal, starting or restarting windows 10 signs into my administrators account automatically :)

You can have Windows automatically sign in to a local account or Microsoft account. It doesn't matter.

Is you account listed more than once in netplwiz? Double check to make sure that you have selected the correct account in step 3 Option 1.

The password is case sensitive, so be sure to enter it exactly for it to work properly.

    Can't Access Administrator Account - Windows 10

    Hi,

To resolve this issue, we suggest that you start your PC in safe mode. Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. For steps on how to start your PC in safe mode, refer to the following link:

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10
    .

Once you are in safe mode, let's enable the built-in Administrator account on your PC. Follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the Start menu.
    • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type net user administrator /active:yes on the command prompt, and press Enter. This command will enable the built-in Administrator account.
    • Type net user administrator password on the command prompt, and press Enter. This will change the Administrator account's password to
      password.
    • Reboot your computer, and sign in as Administrator.

Once you are signed in as Administrator, let's make your old account as Administrator. Follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the Start menu.
    • Click on Settings > Accounts > Other Users.
    • Click on your other account and click on Change account type.
    • Under Account type, select Administrator.

Let us know how it goes for us to assist you further.
