    startmenuexperiencehost does not start on boot up Windows 11 Pro


    Hi, hopefully someone can helpWhen my PC goes to sleep or I restart it and log back in, I do not see the icons on the task bar and a lot of desktop icons don't work. I looked for the issue and it seems to have something to do with the process windowsexcplorer.exe or explorer.exe under details in the task manager. If i right click on either one and click restart it usually fixes it temporarily. Once i restart or log out and then go back to my profile I have to restart it again. Sometimes the startmenuexperiencehost isnt listed either before i restart.I have tried all the solutions I have found,

    Black screen after 'Starting Windows' sequence

    Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

    Try this quoted from "VisiHow" article "Repair Windows 7 Black Screen of Death":

    They, also, have some other options there, too.
    Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.

    This issue occurs when there are broken components on the boot configuration data of your system. To troubleshoot your boot issue, we suggest that you boot in safe mode through the Windows Recovery Environment option. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Turn on your computer. When the Windows logo appears, unplug and replug the device. Perform these steps three times.
    • On the fourth instance, turn on your device without unplugging it. The Windows Recovery Environment window will appear.
    • On the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
    • Click Advance options.
    • Click Startup Settings.
    • Click Restart.
    • Once your computer restarts, you will see a list of options. Press the
      F4       key to start your computer in safe mode.

    Please post back with the result for further assistance.
