Windows 10: Startup Repair. Confirmed correct Microsoft password not working. Why?

Actually i do know why. You probably got forced into using a PIN, and haven't logged into the computer with the password.If force Windows Hello PIN is activated and 202H probably hepfully activated that option for you, then you can't log in with a password anymore. This means the windows 10 offline copy of the password won't get updated. If you don't know the password you last logged into windows with, you are stuck.To deal with this, set the option to force windows hello back to off, then sign out, and click log in options, and use password instead of PIN. Naturally you have to do this B

Windows 10 Password for Startup Repair

Hi,

Startup repair keeps on rejecting my windows 10 password and I am very sure it is my correct password as I use it in logging in to microsoft website. I have two step verification on. Does that affect the password? I tried generate app password but still
not working.

 

Why is startup repair refusing my correct password?

So I've been getting BSODs for 10 hours now. My next step is to try using recovery/repair tools like startup repair.

It asks for the password to my microsoft account, but doesn't accept it. I've reset it twice now, and tried using the new password, but it doesn't accept it.

The computer does not have a local admin account for it to even be asking for the password for. It is connected to the internet, so it should be getting any password resets I do. Yet it continues to say the password that it shouldn't be asking for in the first place is wrong. So what do I do now?

We understand the difficulties you are facing while login to the PC using your Microsoft account.



In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check if you are able to sign with the correct login credential in Safe mode. Also check if you are connected the PC to the internet, preferably through Ethernet cable.

1. At the login screen click on the power symbol.
   
2. Hold SHIFT key in the keyboard and click Restart.
   
3. After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
   
4. Select advanced options under
   Troubleshoot screen.
   
5. Click on Startup Settings
   
6. Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to Safe Mode
   
7. Login with the correct password using the onscreen keyboard.
