  1. Startup responsiveness and how to diagnose?

When I start my system, my C drive is maxed at 100% for about 15 minutes. Because of this I've started leaving my machine on overnight, which I'm not a fan of. I put it into sleep, but after about 15 minutes it wakes up, but that's a whole other issue.

My CPU is a quad core i7@ 3.9Ghz

C drive is a SSD, getting maxed at up to 54M/s

I have an inkling of the issue, which may require a fresh install, but don't want to do that unless I have to.

About 3 months or so ago, I installed a larger SSD in my system as the one I had dedicated to Win10 was only 60Gig, and with all the MS dev tools I was using I needed more "root" space. I installed a 150Gig SSD, and instead of reinstalling Windows I opted to use a drive move tool. but I forget which one right now, and since then it has been slow, but getting worse.

How would I go about diagnosing this issue, being that it could be a pre-start issue, a registry issue, or (which I don't believe it is) a drive issue?

Thank in advance, for any and ALL help Startup responsiveness and how to diagnose? :)

After Windows startup no response, reboot needed if lucky

    Hi David,

To better assist you, we would like to know the following information:

    • Are you able to reach the desktop or app list during startup?
    • Do you receive any error message? If yes, what is the exact error message that you receive?
    • Have you made any recent software or hardware changes on the computer?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Always Diagnosing

    Hi,

Based on the information that you've provided, the issue still persists after performing the troubleshooting steps recommended. To isolate your concern, we'd like to ask the following:

    • Which version of Windows are you using?
    • Have you made any recent changes prior to experiencing the issue?
    • Were you able to try any other troubleshooting steps aside from the one suggested on this thread?

Note: To find out which version of Windows your PC is running, press
Windows logo key + R, type winver, then select
    OK
    .

We'll be looking forward to your response.
