Windows 10: Startup Windows 10

Computer always runs the hard drive for a long time at startup and restart. It seems to have started with some sort of "FORCED UPDATE" in Oct and may be a virus check type program that was recently added?


I have tried to cancel all the unused startup items and processes without success, it's a windows security thing.


If there were any other OS besides Windows I would use it. I don't use or need 90% of the stuff it runs and I cant even do the the most basic things without spending hours like networking all my computers at home.

Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
