Windows 10: STATUS_IN_PAGE_ERROR

For the last 2 weeks I get this error what navigating to certain web pages. It happens in both Edge and Chrome but never happens in Firefox. Sometimes if I reload the page it works; sometimes it takes 5 or 6 tries; sometimes I never get through. It only happens with half the web pages but some very important sites I can't access.

I saw workarounds that mention Symantec but I do not have Symantec. I tried pausing the Firewall temporarily also.


Any ideas?

Most possibly you have some bad sectors on your disk or a RAM problem. This sounds me like a hardware problem rather than software problem. Because Error 0xc0000006 is STATUS_IN_PAGE_ERROR which
means program addressing the page which wasn't in the memory because of an I/O error.

Try running

on your system partition. See if it solves the problem. If not trying

may help also. Maybe the bad sector corruption affected memory manager subsystem. SCF may fix that.

If all these doesn't fix the problem, you can try replacing the RAM module(s), one by one, if multiple.

Hello, to help further diagnose this error better, you need to provide crash dumps. To do this run this .reg file in the zip folder in the link below.

Once Explorer crashes zip the folder (type in %localappdata%\crashdumps into the run box (windows key+r), select all files and send to compressed zip folder) and upload the crash dumps onto a file sharing site (preferably OneDrive) and we will see what the
issue is. If you want to access this folder you may want to consider downloading 7zip so you can zip the crash dumps without having any explorer crashes.

Running chkdsk /f from a Admin Command Prompt may also work (Task Manager, Start New Task, %windir%\system32\chkdsk.exe /f %systemdrive%) , as exception code c0000006 (STATUS_IN_PAGE_ERROR) usually relates to hardware or disk errors.

 

Several issues (corrupt or missing files/Windows10complications)

I seem to have several issues and I am on day 2.

I believe one has to do with some window 10 upgrades that happened yesterday and the other to a virus and/or files I deleted to free up space months ago. While I have internet and can ping google through command prompt, I can not use any browsers.
I also have no sound. (No input, no output) I have tried several remedies, like turning off sound, changing display to Windows 10, etc.

I also get an error code when I try to delete files that could be causing the problem. Error: 1073741818. STATUS_IN_PAGE_ERROR.

"Error 0xc0000006 normally occurs due to corrupted registry files. It can also be caused by certain viral infections. This error can also be caused by obsolete drivers, missing DLL files and a blue screen of death on your computer."

The solutions presented are to download scans, Window 10 corrections, etc however I have no internet.
Any scans or troubleshooting done on my computer shows everything as normal, updated, and no issues detected.

I can't use command prompt to repair or do a SFC scan. Selecting myself as administrator or manually selecting myself as manager throws up the 107 error.

I have done several restarts/resets, and even took everything off my computer to try to start from the beginning. It all says unsuccessful, nothing has been changed.

I see solutions for both my issues, but due to having both issues can't solve the other.

Any suggestions?
