Windows 10: Stealth Gaming Headset Microphone isn't being detected/not working

Hi, a bit of a long story, so my computer is currently "9" years old, and it was a Windows 7 Home Premium. however, I got it updated to Windows 10 last year (I used a PC mechanic). It still has the old "HD Audio Deck", so it doesn't have a "Realtek Audio Deck". The thing is, my headset mic doesn't work and I don't know why. My first guess is because it needs the Realtek Audio Deck, aka an updated motherboard and/or CPU. Now I did buy a cable splitter, so that's out of the question, and I've tried updating what I've thought to be my headset microphone's driver to a Realtek one since the old one was 9 years old.
Of course it's not muted in any way shape or form, however when I test my headset's mic on Discord, It only picks up what's coming through my headphones. It doesn't pick up my voice at all.
I've contacted support and they reckon it's faulty, but I think it's just that my PC is too old for the tech, and I don't know how to fix that.
If someone could tell me if my PC is recognizing my headset's microphone at all that would be great.

microphone for razer nari headset not being detected

my headset (razer nari) has been working fine however for some reason the microphone has stopped being detected, in playback the headset is still there, but in recording there is no sign of the headset at all, i turned on show disable devices ect and still
nothing, its as if the microphone portion of the headset has been removed from my laptop, everything ive seen so far for help on this hasent worked, any suggestions?

• Does the microphone oh your headset work when plugged to a different device?
• Can you tell us exactly what troubleshooting steps you tried in the past? This is important so that we could provide other steps that you haven't tried yet.

 

Headset Microphone is not working

I have a Sennheiser headset with a split jack. One green jack for the headphones and one pink jack for the microphone. When I connect it to the matching port on my Windows Laptop, it detects and uses the headphones for audio output but the microphone is
not picking up any audio.

In the process of troubleshooting this issue, I have attempted the following steps found elsewhere in the forums:

Running the troubleshooter - Failed since the device is not showing

Attempted to manage the audio devices through Control Panel Hardware and Sound. This also did not work as neither the headphones nor the microphone are being shown. The only two options showing under the Recording tab are Microphone (The built in microphone
on the computer) and Stereo Mix. I have tried enabling the stereo mix and having it be listened to, but this did not work and only caused feedback on the headset.

Updating drivers - My specific headset does not have drivers and just plugs in and plays. I have downloaded an app from Sennheiser to check for firmware just in case, but everything is up to date.

I have used this same headset on another laptop and both the headphones and mircrophone work as intended. The headset also works appropriately with my XBox One. The only time the issue shows itself is on my windows 10 MSI Stealth laptop.

With these details in mind, is there anything I may be missing? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated as I would love to be able to use this headset for online gaming.
