steam Taskbar shortcut will not show the correct icon.

When I try to pin steam to my taskbar, it works as intended, expect it only displays the white page default icon, and every time I try to change it in properties, it has no effect. This is not a huge deal but it is quite annoying, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have just recently uninstalled and reinstalled steam while clearing and reformating my second SSD as I was having some disk write issues. I have also recently updated my BIOS, if either of those facts are relevant.

    :)

  2. Blank shortcut icon GPU-Z

I know I am quite late but as I was scrolling through I saw this post which happened to one of friend too. This sometimes happens with Windows. Usually a reboot will solve the problem. However if this doesn't, try setting the icon for the shortcut(right-click pinned icon, right-click program, left-click properties, select "change icon...") or refreshing it by switching to a different icon, applying it, and then reverting back to the original icon. Remove the shortcut from the taskbar and replace it with the start menu shortcut or simply drag the .exe file to the taskbar.

Program Icon Missing from Taskbar Shortcut

Thanks for your response. No, I haven't changed the 100% appropriate and correct icon on the Desktop shortcut- what would I change it to? I like it the way it is.

I don't understand your suggestion, sorry.

    System Icons on taskbar

    Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

    • Click on the search bar on the taskbar.

    • Type system icons.

    • Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

    Hope it helps.
