Windows 10: Steelseries Audio Issues Since the 1909 update

I have looked at a bunch of articles with the Steelseries headsets that have multiple out sources. Example mine had a dedicated chat audio land for both input and output. Then the Headset also has a single output called Game. I have tried uninstall reinstalling drivers, going back to 1903 seems to be the only fix but with Microsoft says "Update or you are the devil" makes it hard to stay with 1903.


How it happens: anytime a new audio device is detected the computer will detect it with no issue but then it will kill of the Game audio from the Steelseries headset and only leave Chat audio output behind in its place. The Game audio device disappears does not show up in device manager, sound control panel, or in the settings app. The only one to make the Game audio reappear is to change the source type on my Steelseries. I have the Artics Pro with the DAC. I have to hold the dial, go to input change it from PC to HI-Res source then change it back to PC to get game back but the second another audio device is detected I have to do that process all over again, and again, and again. I just wiped my computer today as of posting this post went from 1903 where I noticed that adding audio devices didn't do anything then right after updating to the latest and greatest 1909 the constant musical source changing occurs.


What can I do to fix this, send logs or what?

User.000 issue after updating to 1909

I'm one of the many people suffering from issues with user profiles after applying Update 1909 to Windows 10. I've read all the threads I can find on the topic here and have followed the suggestions, all to no avail. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

After applying Update 1909, the ProfileImagePath was changed to c:\users\User.000
One file that was always in use and couldn't be removed was left in c:\users\User (can't recall or find the exact file now), so I could never rename or remove the c:\user\User directory.

I followed the multiple suggestions from Brink and others:

• Rebooted at least 6 times
• Enabled hidden Administrator
• Booted into Safe Mode
• Changed ProfileImagePath
• Tried to rename c:\users\User but couldn't because a file was still in use
• Copied all data from c:\users\User.000 into c:\users\User
• Rebooted and had temporary profile
• Followed steps in Brink tutorial to change ImageProfilePath; rebooted with no change
• Restored using Restore Point from before Update 1909 - returned to single profile state (User.000)
• Removed each update that was installed individually and rebooted after each update removal - profile state never changed
• After all updates were removed, repeated the steps above with hidden Administrator, changing profile, etc. - same issue with file in use in c:\users\User
• Followed all steps above with hidden Administrator but without copying files from User.000 to User - same results

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

 

SteelSeries driver update continous attempts/fails




Despite having a steelseries 6Gv/2 keyboard and installed uptodate steelseries drivers, window and the steelseries refuse to cooperate. Windows suggests that the current driver is the best to use and therefore steelseries cannot locate the keyboard in either usb ports 2.0 and 3.0. Can anyone help in correcting this?
