Windows 10: Stick Notes Master Windows 10 1903

How do I restore the Master Sticky Notes (not sure what the real name is of this special instance) which I accidentally deleted with ALT/F4. I do not have File History turned on required to recover Sticky Notes instances.

After Windows 10 1903 update, Sticky Notes had this special Master Sticky Note.

After accidentally deleting this special Master Sticky Notes instance, ordinary note instances appear thereafter.


Attempt 1: I tried (a) Control Panel: Delete Sticky Notes then (b) download/installed from Microsoft Store Sticky Notes.

The Master Sticky Notes instance does not appear.


Why this instance of Master Sticky Notes is special: See embedded picture showing what Master Sticky Notes looks like: seem to add all created Sticky Notes like a table of content. The individual sticky notes may be expanded as a separate instance by clicking on it in the Master or may be deleted on the Master Sticky Notes list.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Sticky Notes isn't avaiable for me

Let us further isolate your concern by answering the following questions:

• Have you made any changes to the computer software prior to this?
• What type of user account are you using?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Search Stick Notes.
• Right-click on it and then choose Run as administrator.
