Windows 10: Sticky Notes Formatting Shortcuts Gone & Sticky Notes Doesn't Always Auto-Launch after...

Greetings,


There used to be handy shortcut buttons for applying basic formatting to Sticky Notes (bold, underline, etc).

I first noticed these buttons were missing from the bottom of the Sticky Notes window about the time I updated to Windows 10 version 1903.


I'm aware that I can still apply formatting using manual shortcut key combinations (Ctrl+B for bold, Ctrl+U for underline and such).

This is certainly not as convenient, however.


Is there any way to re-activate these shortcut buttons in Sticky Notes?


In addition, the Sticky Notes app does not consistently auto-launch when Windows 10 boots up.

I sometimes (about 25% of the time) have to launch the app manually.

This was not the case before the v1903 update.

Can this be rectified?

Strikethrough Formatting in Sticky Notes 1.1.7.0

Hi all,

I've read that you can get strikethrough on sticky notes using the shortcut ctrl+T. I've tried several variations, however, and can't get strikethrough to work on my sticky notes. Other formatting commands such as ctrl+B etc. work fine.

Is there another way to get strikethrough on sticky notes?

Sticky Notes Shortcut Question

Hi,

To create a sticky note shortcut on your Windows 10, what I can suggest is to kindly follow the instructions below:

• In the Start menu, type Sticky Notes in the Search box/Cortana.
• Select and right click the app.
• Click Open file location.
• Right click and select Properties.
• In the shortcut key: tab, press the keyboard key that you want to create a shortcut with.
• Click Apply to save the changes.

Kindly note that you have to be the Administrator to make the changes.

Sticky notes may have encountered a system file corruption that caused this. We suggest that you run the

Windows app troubleshooter for this issue. Meanwhile, we also recommend that you reset your Sticky Notes app by following the steps below:

• Click the Windows icon and click Settings.
• Click System, and then click Apps & features on the left menu.
• Click on Sticky Notes on the list found on your right menu, click
  Advanced options link, and click the Reset button.
• Click the Reset button again when you see the confirmation dialog to reset Sticky Notes app.
• Close the Settings window and check your Sticky Notes app.
