    Still Cannot Delete Recovery Partition

YES I AM CLEAR YOU WANT TO DELETE IT

BUT...........YOU NEED the Minitool Partition Wizard BOOTABLE CD iso ....... NOT MACRIUM for this....

It's part of the same thing.... FAT32 won't Boot if not set Active on a MBR type Disk , some USB Drives come this way Some do not. If it is a UEFI boot , then ACTIVE is not required , so if boot fails off the USB drive use Windows MTPW to set it active by RC on the Drive and look for "set active" then hit Apply at the top.

Macrium is Free , download and install on Both if needed

MTPW for Windows is also free install it on Both machines....

If this is a 32GB T100 , then I think you are trying to Delete a Special Partition not One that is part of the normal eMMC Drive which is your SSD Disk, as 29GB + 7GB is 36GB.... ie I am not sure you would usually have access to this..... it is a seperate disk in your 1st PIC so can not be merged with C: AFAIK but....

It may still be possible , did you try to override (not clean) the Read only Protection with diskpart?

If you're certain that you want to remove the partition.... ie at your own risk.....this is supposed to remove everything even if Diskpart doesn't know what it is...........

try this at the admin cmd prompt....

    diskpart
    lis dis ......................get disk number
sel dis # ...................Where # is the disk number you want to override and clean from above
    lis par .......................
sel par # ....................Where # is the partition number you want to override and clean from above
delete partition ............If this throws a force protection error ignore it and try this instead:
    delete partition override

    Hope that helps.

    Still Cannot Delete Recovery Partition

Hi...thanks for your nice reply...I have tried to clear the write protection from diskpart...no go...I tried doing it outside of windows also it says successfull always but nope ...still write protected....
You are close as far as the disk size...however this is actually 28 gig and this 7 gig partition is not an additional size...it is part of the 28 gig so when I made a restore disk I selected to save a copy to disk...and now I cannot get rid of it.
I was hoping your 'Delete method ' would finally work...unfortunatly ...I get"The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
And I performed this via command prompt outside of windows in the boot menu,....soooo.. hee hee this little computer is really giving me a hard time eh?.
I also tried to make a bootable usb disk with the magic partition but I cannot get this machine to boot from a usb...the bios will not allow it...I have gone thru this all afternoon from the Asus forum...some sets don't have the 'Launch CSM'.
Don't know man...I don't want to re-install Windows ...the machine is working fine...I just want to delete that 7gig partition....something must be wrong with the drive system though I think...since diskpart says it is clear but disk management says it is not clear...hmmm.

Turn off Secure boot in Bios to boot USB on many laptops sometimes Fastboot too.

so this final command didn't work after you ignored the error per above ?

    delete partition override

This 7GB is showing as a separate DRIVE ,(no#2) not a Seperate Partition ,
on drive 1 so something is a bit strange..

32GB HDD/SSD.s (per Asus specs) are NOT 32GB
because as per information found online

The drive seller calculates 1gb as 1000x1000x1000 (base 10)
therefore the number of bytes in it is 32,000,000,000 bytes total (A CHEAT)

BUT windows calculates 1gb as 1024x1024x1024 (base 2)
so to windows 32gb= 34,359,738,368 bytes

and ASUS's 32,000,000,000 divided by 1024x1024x1024= 29.8023223877 Gb as seen in Windows.

Hi....Yup,...tried the command a few times same error....and you are right this stupid partition shows as a separate drive....but it is not....yes it's weird !...and will not access even out of windows.
The ASus laptop was supposed to be 32 gig ...but in 'This PC' it shows as 28 gig.
This was a re-install I did my self with some help from ASus last year because my origional system broke during warranty...
the re-install was done within the system but I think i used my recovery USB disk...I'm sorry I can't really remember the whole experience...but this is something else.
Today I spent four hours on this little thing...I have managed to boot from a USB disk before but not today...I used Rufus but the sytsem does not boot at all from the USB....I have disabled Secure Boot and changed the boot order and disable Windows to boot ...but... heh ,,,still just loads windows...
Well at least the little S*** is still working .
I have eleven different Windows systems and have never seen this issue in the 20 years of using a computer.....I blame this on a ASus issue....My first new laptop purchase.....this little transformer is too small for real work...I just use it for fun....but now it's not so much fun heh...thanks for your help.
I'll or may try something tommorrow again when I'm on it.

I think it is something special Asus has done....

at least your's worked I could never get wifi to connect properly , nothing over 5mb, so it went back , so did a family member's one for the same reason.

HDD are NEVER the Stated size..... cos of the base 10 vs base 2 thing and how ALL manufacturer's cheat.

found this too ..... looks like a no go...

    Still Cannot Delete Recovery Partition

I may have missed some of the comments in this thread. But the 7 GB is a flash drive?

The next time you use Diskpart, select the drive then select the partition and then use the detail par command.

    sel dis 1
    sel par 1
    det par

If you want to delete the partition use the suggest from above of

    del par override.

Any chance if it is a flash drive it has a special switch on it for write protection?

If it is not a flash drive, do you have the Intel utility running in the Hidden icons on the Taskbar? If so, what is the status of the drive. There could be a situation where the drive is being used to accelerate the HDD and part of it is being used for data. If that is the case, you may want to disable the acceleration to get full access to the drive.

You should be able to assign a letter to the partition in Disk Management so you could see it. You could also change it properties from probably an 0x80000000000000001 to a 0x0000000000000000. gpt attributes=0000000000000000

It appears to be a special embedded chip or something the other post has more info on it... @badrobot gave up on it too , I just found his thread on it but maybe he had luck since?
