Windows 10: Still seeing 21a errors on high volume laptops w/windows10 shell swaps

So we use HP zBook laptops thousands and standardized on Windows 10 w/Bitlocker on, several years ago. I work in the Technical Support group responsible for service/repair of broken laptops. we often do "shell swaps" to maintain a high degree of "uptime" for customers. our inventory of spare laptops is large and many the spares can be on shelf for several months, when we pull them for use, the batteries are often drained HP laptops have a built in "shipping" mode, when the battery gets below %10, it essentially will hibernate itself and wont wake unless its battery reaches the 10% or grea

an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs, data and most settings

Swapping is the process of evicting infrequently used application memory from the computer's physical address space yet retaining it within the process's virtual address space.

This is done by writing it to a non-volatile backing store called a
swap volume. The swap volume is typically stored on a hard disk as either a swap file on a file system, or as a dedicated swap partition.

If an application references the memory that has been evicted from the physical address space the operating system will have to load it from the swap volume back into the physical address space before proceeding. This allows a computer to operate more
efficiently by ensuring that high speed memory is populated only with data that is frequently used.

Swap usage is the used capacity of all swap volumes that the operating system is allowed to use.

The bcdboot command needs to be run from an elevated command prompt to work. Since you already successfully created and formatted the EFI partition, to finish these steps, open an elevated command prompt and type: diskpart list disk (identify the disk number n of the laptop drive. It may not be 6) select disk n (replace n with the disk number found above) list volume (make sure H is still the Windows volume on the drive to fix, and, identify the volume number of the aforementioned EFI partition) select vol m (replace m with the volume number found above) assign letter=W exit bcdboot H:\Windows /s W: /f UEFI diskpart select vol W remove letter=W exit exit EDIT: Or if the drive letter W is still assigned to the EFI partition in question, then you can just skip all these steps: diskpart list disk (identify the disk number n of the laptop drive.
