Windows 10: Still will not update

I have yet to be able to get build updates. With 9926, I just downloaded and installed a new copy and it upgraded the old build but I was never able to do a windows update or Notifications/Update. Now I see build 10xxx is out. Again I checked notificaitons/settings/updates & Recovery. Always says there are problems installing the update.

Whats the secret?

Anniversary Update still will not update my version of Windows 10

I have tried countless times to update my Windows 10 with the Anniversary Update, but it will not update. I get some essentially gobbledygook response that the update failed because of some driver issue and Microsoft tries to get up to date information
on drivers from manufacturers etc., which is Microsoft's way of passing off the problem and blaming someone else. Now, with some intervening small update to my Windows 10 that seems to have happened and has nothing to do with the Anniversary Update, my printer
no longer works, and when I install/reinstall the driver, Windows tells me it can't find the driver for my printer. (I know I am asking two separate questions here, but maybe someone from Microsoft will see this posting and will have a solution to at least
one of my issues.)

 

There is an ISO for 10041. If you can't get updates with your current build, you would definitely not want to keep and force update that. Wipe it out, download and install the latest build.

if you have Build 9926 (like myself), MS will do the upgrade for you, that is; if possible.

I am waiting for upgrade 10054 to come all by itself (not i am "really" waiting for that to happen

Are you on a metered connection(for example prepaid mobile broadband?) If so, Microsoft has blocked it from updating, to save data charges. NOTE: This only applies for the Technical Preview
