I took my laptop to have its CPU thermal paste changed.

It was running windows 7 before just fine (mom's laptop).

so now, whenever I start the system the bios appears and then this line (just this line) appears on a blue background:

and I am unable to use the laptop.

I can't do anything but to forcefully shut it down,

And then again the same.

I tried to reinstall windows 7, but when i enter the bios, there is a weird red and blue color gradient movement at the top when the bios is entered.

STOP error after Windows MCE 2005 clean install

OK, so I got my hands on a copy of MCE. It gets through copying the files fine booting from CD, then after a restart, I get a BSOD with this error code: STOP:
0X0000007B (0xF7C7B524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000). This is after the very first restart, no configuring users or anything.

Trying this on another system, it works fine. Any ideas on how to get it to install succesfully?
