Stop changing my default audio device

I can't even believe that I have to say this, but if I select an audio device as the default audio device on my system - that means I want to use that device as my default audio device.I've disabled all other devices, and every single time I wake my PC or restart I have to reset my default device to the audio output from the motherboard and disable the monitor audio device. Why would I ever want to use the audio output from my monitor over the stereo out anyway? Why don't you have an option to disable windows from auto-switching the audio device? Why don't audio devices that are disabled stay dis

  2. Set new audio device default for volume mixer in Windows 10

    I use two audio devices:

    • Default (audio) device "Realtec Digital Output (Optical)"
    • Default communication device "Lautsprecher (Speaker)"

    My goal:
I want to have the default audio volume on my default communication device, instead of the default device - at all times.

    What I tried so far:
Changing the volume mixer to my communication device explicitly works temporary, but as soon as I close the settings window, the default audio volume is reset again to the default audio device.

Step 1: Clicking on volume shows me the default device:

Step 2: Changing the volume mixer to my communication device manually:

Step 3: Clicking again on volume does not keep the change Stop changing my default audio device :(

How can I make it permanent that windows uses my communication device for default volume control?

  3. No Audio Output Device is Installed

    Hi,

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

    2. Select "playback devices".

    3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

    5. Save the changes.

    Let us know the result.

Stop changing my default audio device

    Problem with audio devices

    Hi Marcello,

I appreciate you for trying some steps in order to get the issue resolved.

If you're connecting to an audio device using USB or HDMI, you might need to set that device as the default.

Open Start, enter Sound, select it from the list of results, and then, on the
Playback tab, select a device, then Set Default.

I would also suggest you to turn off Audio enhancements.

    • Go to Start, enter Sound, and select Sound Control Panel
      from the list of results.

    • On the Playback tab, right-click (or tap and hold) the
      Default Device and select Properties.

    • On the Enhancements tab, select the Disable all enhancements
check box and try to play your audio device.

    • If that doesn't work, select Cancel and, on the Playback
tab, select another default device (if you have one), select the Disable all enhancements check box, and try to play audio again. Do this for each default device.
Please revert if you face any issues with Audio.

    Thank you.
