Stop Code 0xc000021a error in a loop unable to start computer while installing Quality update, action Restart Now or Install and Restart

Shift+Restart / Recovery drive options useless, especially ones to uninstall updates

issue fixed with using following command at Command Prompt option in Troubleshoot menu of recovery drive


dism /image=C: /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions



I experienced this issue while installing quality updates on my desktop with 1803 and now on my laptop with 1809, as it happens more than often, humble request to Microsoft to add above command on recovery drive's

TroubleShoot -> Advance Options -> Uninstall Updates

Windws error "stop code: 0xc000021a after reboot

In preperation to install latest version of office pro I removed office 2010. The system required a reboot to complete the operation, however, it failed with the error message stop code 0xc000021a. I can boot to a command prompt but that is all. I have
tried dism.exe with sveral options listed in community search but this also fails.
