Windows 10: Stop driver update

I keep having an driver update showing up and I no longer have the device on my pc. How do I keep that from showing up?

How to stop Auto Driver update

Hello,

Windows update seems to automatically update few of the drivers. One of them is the WLAN driver. I use internet hotspot app like connectify to share my ethernet internet connection.

The latest version of the driver seems to change the hosted network settings and hence i cannot share my internet over WiFi. Rolling back driver fixes this issue but i have to do this frequently.

I tried disabling auto update of drivers through windows update by Right clicking Computer -> Properties-> Hardware -> Device installation settings -> Checking on 'Never install driver software from Windows Update'. However this did not work because everytime
i roll back driver, a new version automatically starts to get downloaded in Windows update.

Any solution for this???

 

Are you sure all traces of the Device have been removed
Also what device was it that you had installed only some do leave behind a file or folder
