Windows 10: Stop program after x hours

I'm trying to set up a scheduled program that would start once every day at certain hour and then stop after 8 hours. I've created a daily task for the startup and then a seperate task that stops the program via batch file /taskkill but the program starts again immediately after it stops it should wait for 16 hours before it starts again.What would be a proper way of doing this?Thank you!

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

Follow the below steps and check if it helps,

I suggest you to uninstall the Display Adapter drivers from Device manager and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Follow the steps for the same.

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand ‘Display Adapters’.
• Right-click on the Display Adapter listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
• Install the latest driver from the manufacturer website.

I want Adobe Acrobat Standard X to be my default not Reader

As per the description, Adobe Acrobat Standard X is not listed as a default app but it pops up listed as a "desktop app".

I suggest you to check the app in the Programs and features.
To do so follow the below steps.

1. Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl

If the application is not present in the Programs & Features
then Suggest you to download the app from the link.

choose the appropriate language under Acrobat X standard installer,
and download.
