Windows 10: Stop rebooting for updates, on working hours, on non-working hours, in lock screens, NEVER...

God damnit, this is the nth time my PC restarted while it was running a task, for a stupid update. I can start all over again. STOP RESTARTING PC's WHILE THEY ARE ON, YES INCLUDING ON A LOCK SCREEN! I don't want an update on working hours, I don't want an update on non-working hours, I want to have a normal setting, not somewhere hidden in the freaking group policies or regedit that does not even work, to disable rebooting forever while the PC is on. How hard can it be?!

Quiet hours stopped working on Lumia 950

Quiet hours recently stopped working on my Lumia 950 (I'm not on the insider builds, all software up to date, OS build 10.0.15254.248). Cortana background settings is set to "Managed by Windows" (at settings->battery->battery usage by app). Quiet hours worked
fine for me for a years, don't even know what's happened

Just in case, I already tried to reboot phone, no luck at all. Any suggestions/ideas except hard reset? JFYI, I do have desktop PC and Surface Book with the same (as on the phone) live account.

P.S. Please, don't try to teach me how to set quiet hours in the Cortana's notebook or provide similar commonplace and useless advises!

windows explorer.exe fails to function after a few hours

I have gone through the posts and tried all the suggestions. All "work" for a couple hours then the explorer stops as usual. There seem to be a number of people with the same problem and I don't see anyone with a true fix for it. Rebooting works but
after a few hours it stops working again, same with the cntl+shift+esc then restart explorer.exe. running scan and all the other suggestions. Some do nothing, most if not all tell you to reboot... after a reboot they all work for a couple hours then that
is it. To go to safe mode and one by one start a program and sit for three or four hours and see if that does it would take several weeks. this seems to be a problem with windows 10 and I keep hoping there is a fix coming down the pike. Until then anyone
have a suggestion?

 

Quiet Hours not working as expected

When you enable Quiet hours, the window of time when it can be engaged is from
12 midnight to 6 AM.

Quiet Hours allows for the user to define periods of time in which the system will be fresh and up to date when the user is present, but will stop background tasks and notifications when the user is away from their system.


However, since you are not receiving the notifications even after 6 AM, I would suggest you to
check the regional settings and the time settings and make sure that it is set correctly.

Also, check which server settings your computer is synced to by following the steps below:

1. Type "date and time" in the search bar and open it.

2. Click on "internet time" tab.

3. Click on "change settings".

4. Check "synchronize with an internet time server"

5. Under server, select time.windows.com
from the drop down list.

6. Click on "update now" and click
ok.

7. Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
