Windows 10: Stopped OneDrive, Now I Cannot Change Folder Locations

Discus and support Stopped OneDrive, Now I Cannot Change Folder Locations in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I have searched everywhere and I can't find a way to fix this frustrating problem.     Stopped OneDrive, Now I Cannot Change Folder Locations


    I have searched everywhere and I can't find a way to fix this frustrating problem. I don't see why OneDrive is a default on any Windows installation because it sucks. I want to save my files locally, NOT in the cloud where I am only allotted 5GB whereas my SSD has 2TB and my HDD has 8TB.I've followed several steps to Unlink my PC and completely disassociate my computer from the cloud, HOWEVER I am STILL unable to change the default locations for my Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Pictures, Music, and Videos from C:\Users\**ME**\OneDrive\"FOLDER" to D:\Users\**ME**\"Folder".It keeps telling me "

    Changing folder location

    Kenneth,

    The folders may have been redirected to OneDrive. First, you need to disable syncing your special folders with OneDrive. Only then can the folders be redirected.

    To revert the shell folder locations to default, open OneDrive and do the following:

    Note: Before proceeding, copy the files in those special folders to another folder or external drive. Please don’t copy them anywhere under Desktop/Documents/Pictures. This is because disabling OneDrive backup for a folder erases the local copies of the files. Copying them to a different location beforehand will ensure that you don’t need to download them again from the OneDrive cloud.



    1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Notification area and click Settings.
    2. Select the Backup tab, and click Manage Backup
    3. In the Manage folder backup dialog, click on the Stop backup link under the special folder (Desktop, Documents, or Pictures)
    4. Click Stop backup in the confirmation dialog that appears.
    5. Repeat the step for each shell folder you want to revert to the original location.

    Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

    No tried that.

    Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

    any more suggestions
