Windows 10: Storage info. in Settings appears to be rubbish; makes clean up impossible

Need about 6.5GB of space to do a re-install to maybe fix what are probably a couple of registry/services settings. Storage indicates about 3.8GB in "Other" it's list indicates 32KB; Apps. indicates 3.47GB; listing about 40mb although there are no numbers against Microsoft Edge. So it's just complete rubbish information; so I can't get my computer to work properly because Win. 10 demands the vast majority of the disk; has nonsense figures for the remainder and no way to remove any part of Win. 10 to allow a workable Win. 10.

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

1. Missing Windows Updates.

2. Conflict between third party applications.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to
set the computer in a Clean Boot state and check if it helps. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
