Windows 10: storage space is unrecognized

Hello, I am trying to download graphics drivers from the and website and the installer is saying my disk drives are full even though there is over 100 gb. not sure why this is or how to fix it.

Problem with Storage Space

Funny...on actually reading the title on that unrecognized status disk, it is titled Microsoft Storage Space. I was ust surprised to see it listed in the drive list.

 

Storage Spaces found Unrecognized Configuration, but doesn't say which Disk it is

I am playing around with Windows Storage Spaces and have simulated a drive failure by disconnecting the drive. I have then repaired the Space by adding a new drive to the Pool (actual new drive that had to be initialized and that was not used previously). I was also able to remove the failed drive from the Pool through the GUI. I have then reconnected the original drive to the PC and observed. Storage Spaces shows following screen:

Storage Spaces is technically correct, because it has recognized that the drive I have connected was previously part of some Storage Spaces Pool. But the box is empty. I currently can't work with the drive It is not present in Disk Management console. Please advise how to get the drive reset.

Disclaimer: No data is in danger. I am playing around. This entire hardware setup is a playground. No advices on how to do data recovery is neccessary.

 

Storage Space Drives Not accessible

Hi Sam,

I have 3 disks in the storage pool.

They do not show up in File Explorer.

They do show in Disk Management as healthy with a note (space protective partition)

In Storage Spaces, they show up as "unrecognized configuration"

I do not use BitLocker.
