Windows 10: Storage space issue with the windows store and my SSD

The problem I am having is that my SSD is full yet it won't display the files that are apparently taking up all the space. I would be extremely grateful if someone could show me how to get rid of the files and free up the space. I became aware of this problem the other day because I noticed that my SSD was almost completely full, and I don't want it to be slowed down or anything. When I checked storage I realized that when I downloaded halo the Master Chief collection from the Windows store it downloaded onto my SSD. So I went to move it to my 1 TB hard drive, and it moved the game but didn't

Then I tried creating Storage Spaces using USB flash drives that I happen to have handy, but seemingly against what Microsoft says in the given link (...can use...USB drives...) Storage Spaces on Windows 10 cannot use USB flash drives.

Now I am looking into creating Storage Spaces using SSD USB drives that I would have to buy, I don't have them handy.

So again, returning to the original issue in the original post, does anyone have actual experiences using SSD USB drives for Storage Spaces?

You don't show a screenshot, so I am uncertain to which part of the process of creating a storage space you are referring. I pointed you to the tutorials. I now provide you with a screenshot of part of one of them, which shows a warning which might be what you are referring to.





Your question about double storage / redundancy appears to relate to the normal operation of storage spaces once configured, so seems obscure.

My impression is that few here have used storage spaces.

According to Storage Spaces in Windows 10 (pull down the top item):

"You can use a variety of types of drives with Storage Spaces, including USB, SATA, and SAS drives."

However, when I wanted to use a USB flash drive to create a storage pool, the Storage Spaces Control Panel said: "No drives that work with Storage Spaces are available."

Will a SSD with a USB interface work for Storage Spaces?
