Windows 10: Storage Space stopped working but disks showing as healthy

I woke this morning and found that my Storage Spaces had decided to stop working.On checking the physical disks, they seem to be ok and healthy. I cannot get the Storage Space back online and I am worried that I will lose all of my information.Can anyone help?

Storage space on Windows 11 (build 22000.588): "unhealthy, detached, reason "unknown"", but storage pool is healthy and physical disks are all healthy

I have a storage space that's detached, unhealthy, but the reason is listed as "unknown." The storage pool is healthy, and all the physical disks are healthy. I reset the physical disks anyway and rebooted hoping that might clear whatever is preventing the storage space to connect. That didn't make a difference. I can't force the storage space to connect in its current state, but I haven't found a Powershell command to provide any further information about what's wrong with the space.

Any ideas? The physical disks in the storage space are the six, 1.82 TB ST2000DM008-2FR102s. The storage space is set up as dual parity.

 

Storage Space Drives Not accessible

I have 3 disks in the storage pool.

They do not show up in File Explorer.

They do show in Disk Management as healthy with a note (space protective partition)

In Storage Spaces, they show up as "unrecognized configuration"

I do not use BitLocker.

Storage Spaces Gone - shows all my drives as "retired" despite them being healthy in CrystalDiskInfo

As the title suggests, but some background.

I have Used Storage spaces for about 4 years with 4 x 3TB Seagate NAS hard-drives

Moved house over the weekend and reconnected the computer to the network and it worked fine last night.

Today however the Virtual Storage Space drive is gone but can be found in "manage storage spaces" with the error "inaccessible; check the Physical drives section"

In the physical drives section:

-Each drive shows up as attached, % used, Providing its capacity with - "Error, Retired; add a drive then remove this drive"

It shows the same for all 4 drives.

How do I fix this. Surely not all 4 drives died overnight. There have been no power surges overnight and the computer itself seems fine otherwise.



The CrystalDiskInfo when done said all the drives were Healthy.

I cannot see them in Disk Management - only in Device Manager

Each drive has the following info:

CanPool: False, OperationalStatus: {Failed Media, IO Error, OK], HealthStatus: Unhealthy, Usage: Retired



In Get-StoragePool it shows two different FriendlyNames:

Primordial:

Operational Status: OK, HealthStatus: Healthy, IsPrimordial: True, IsReadOnly: False, Size: 10.97TB, AllocatedSize: 10.92TB

Storage Pool:

Operational Status: Read-Only, HealthStatus: Unhealthy, IsPrimordial: False, IsReadOnly: False, Size: 10.91TB, AllocatedSize: 10.78TB



In Get-VirtualDisk:

FriendlyName: Storage Spaces, Resiliency: Parity, FaultDomain: 1, OperationalStatus: Detached, HealthStatus: Unhealthy, Size: 7.27TB, Footprintonpool: 10.78TB, StorageEffeciency: 66.66%
