Thank you in advance if you're looking at this!Windows 10 Pro -Version 10.0.19045I had multiple drive failures in my storage pool, and it is currently read only, I am unable to add disks to it I have a couple just ready and waiting. 2 of the failed drives may be salvageable, their status is a little confusing; disks 1 and 7 show "{Failed Media, IO Error, OK}" and retired get-physicaldisk output at the bottom.the datastore-repair job shows as suspended:Name IsBackgroundTask ElapsedTime JobState PercentComplete BytesProcessed BytesTotal ---- ---------------- --------

Storage Spaces Parity Repair?

Hi: I'm a newbie here... using an OWC Thunderbay 6 DAS with Thunderbolt 3 for video/photo files using (Win 10 Home) Storage Spaces for the past 6 weeks without problems. Using Parity option in Storage Spaces to emulate RAID 5 protection.

Today, got Parity Error in Manage Storage Spaces, though all 6 drives show "OK". Both Hard Disk Sentinel and CrystaDiskInfo also show normal drives. No pertinent drive events in Event Viewer.

From reading other posts from folks with Storage Spaces issues, I'm inclined to "repair" this parity error if possible, and then consider migrating to DrivePool to avoid repetition or other future issues with SS. Can anyone walk me through how to do a parity repair?

If not doable, then can someone detail a step-by-step process for migrating my 24Tb currently on Storage Spaces to Drivepool? Many thanks!

Unfortunately, following your suggested procedure it appears the Storage Spaces parity error persists.

Given the complexity of your configuration and the impossibility of determining its resilience, and the potential multiple failures - if not of the drives, then the configuration- it seems impossible to suggest a clear way forward. Storage Spaces are not known to be friendly and robust when things go wrong- throw in part of it as a RAID configuration... Further, it has seemed few here use Storage Spaces.. so I rather doubt you will get the help you need, I'm afraid.
