    Storage usage doesn't add up

Using "View Storage on other drives" I have a drive that shows much more space being used than each individual folder shows. My drive is almost full but when I count up the GB used in the folders its like half of what the drive holds. What gives?

    My D: Drive adds up.

But when I go into "Other" it says 608 GB but counting up the folders accounts for maybe 150GB. What gives?

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

    Thanks again!!

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

I ran SeaTools. These are the results:

Does it mean my HDD is useless?

  4. Storage usage doesn't add up

    Windows 10 - settings - storage usage - other?

    Hi Steve,

It's possible that some folders are not showing under the Storage usage >
Others since they are hidden. Though they are hidden, the space that they are taking will still be counted under
Storage usage > Others. You'll have to identify what files and folder are hidden with the steps below:

    • Type hidden in Cortana, the Windows search bar or your task bar.
    • Select Show hidden files and folders from the result.
    • Go to View tab.
    • Enable the Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
    • Hit Apply, then click OK.

Once you're done with these steps, try checking the Storage usage again and see if it will match.

Let us know if it addressed your concern.

    Thank you.
