Windows 10: STORAHCI Error

I am getting an occasional storahci warning Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued. It happens every few days and corrupts the file system. It does not usually cause a BSOD, but I have had 2 prior BSOD before

Computer hangs in Windows 10, Storachci warning EventID 129

I went ahead and uninstalled the Intel drivers and continued having errors-- again, I found that the errors returned as coming from storahci.

However, I noted that the Driver Details page in Device Manager that originally listed storahci as its service had switched listings to iastora after modifying my registry to disallow MSI mode as suggested in the first fix link ou sent me.

On a hunch, I returned to that Driver Details page after uninstalling the Intel drivers and it again claimed storahci as its service. I then revisited the registry and found that it had re-enabled MSI mode after uninstalling the Intel Rapid-Storage drivers.
I have reset the registry listing to disable MSI mode and will update the status after testing tonight.

Error: No work available to process

Hmm. Either it's put out errors and WCG is limiting the work units available, or the project list may not be set to supply other WU when one runs out. (if the problem lies here and not on your end)

On the options to your left, if you go into Results Status, select the computer from Device Name and then look through results see if either they were returned late, errors or any other kind of issue that would stop the servers supplying WU from that perspective.

If there are no errors then it's maybe down to your project list. So selecting Device Manager from the left menu and then clicking on the profile assigned to that computer and make sure that it's assigned to receive WU for other projects if they run out.

At least those steps will rule out problems from the WCG end.

 

Event ID 129 - storahci resetting raidport0

I have been trying to fix this for a few days now and I finally found the solution.

Background:

• HP envy m6-k022dk
• legacy mode
• Sandisk X210 512 GB SSD
• installing Windows 10 took me over 35 hours due to this issue. The install disk has the problem
• My computer would freeze up and update frames every couple seconds
• getting "storahci resetting raidport0" in event viewer

The first and more obvious steps were to set power mode to high performance from Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options . This had to be done upon Windows 10 install even in order to make Windows work without freezing. Now this only fixed my issue
when my laptop was plugged in but as soon as I unplugged it, the computer freezed up instantly.

• go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\0012ee47-9041-4b5d-9b77-535fba8b1442\0b2d69d7-a2a1-449c-9680-f91c70521c60 and change the "Attributes" key value from 1 (default;
  hidden) to 2 (exposed). [This will expose "AHCI Link Power Management - HIPM/DIPM" under Hard Disk power settings]
• go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\0012ee47-9041-4b5d-9b77-535fba8b1442\dab60367-53fe-4fbc-825e-521d069d2456 and change the "Attributes" key value from 1 (default;
  hidden) to 2 (exposed). [This will expose "AHCI Link Power Management - Adaptive" under Hard Disk power settings]
• Now go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options >> Change Plan Settings >> Change Advanced Power Settings
  

• Under Hard Disk, expand "AHCI Link Power Management..."
• Change "On Battery" and "Plugged In" both to "Active"

Now it should not freeze. The article has 1 other step that I did not do because I thought it was not necessary. Now Microsoft please fix this so it does not take 2 days to install Windows when it only should take 30 mins to hour 1/2
