Windows 10: Strange artefacts show when trying to Extend Screen using the Screen Project feature of...

The screen resolution for both are set to default and I am not using any third party apps.The general goal is that I have Photoshop/Blender/Zbrush on my MSI laptop but I want to extend the screen to my Surface both run on Win10 so I can use my pen to sculpt and draw on it. I know it can be done with third party apps but Windows has this feature so why not using it y

Project My Screen

Thank you for posting to the forum regarding the issues you are having with project my screen. This is a feature that was added in 8.1. With that said, I want to verify that you updated your phone with the 8.1 official release and successfully used project
my screen. You have since added the developer preview, I suppose to get update one on the phone, and since then you have had issues with project my screen.

Additionally, I would like to confirm that you are connecting your phone with a USB when trying to use the project my screen feature. If you are trying to do this wirelessly, does it work when you connect with a USB cable?

As for troubleshooting, I might suggest you try the following.

• Try a soft reset. You can do this by going to settings > storage sense > phone > temporary files > delete > Internet Explorer settings > delete history. Once this is done, press and hold the down volume button + the power button until the phone vibrates
  and reboots.
• The next thing I would do is go to settings > project my screen > advanced > try toggling the show touch option > try changing the "external screen orientation".
• Try connecting to the phone to other screens to verify if this issue continues on other devices.

Screen projection: Show only one program on screen

Dear community,

is it possible to project only one certain program to a second screen? I don‘t want to extend the screen and just only show one program on the second screen but to also be able to control it on my screen and just show it on the second
screen.

Also are there shortcuts for freezing and unfreezing the projection to a second screen?

The standard way to project to another screen is to press the Windows Key + P to open the Projection panel . . .

Right click your Desktop, choose new - Shortcut

Then, in the Location box, paste the appropriate text from the list below:

PC screen only

%windir%\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /internal

Duplicate

%windir%\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /clone

Extend

%windir%\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /extend

Second screen only

%windir%\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /external
