  1. Strange audio issue post-2004 update

Couldn't find any clear existing post so I thought it best to start a new one.

I have a bit of a strange audio issue ever since the 2004 update dropped; Windows now doesn't seem to like having the same input and output device set for audio.

In my setup I have a Roland Rubix24 interface (connected via USB to the PC), with a mic plugged in to Input 2R (via XLR). The main L/R output is sent to an amplifier and speakers. Prior to the update, this worked fine for having biweekly chats with family members via Facebook videocall, but since the windows update it never seems to recognise the audio input anymore.

The interface is definitely picking up the mic audio, but whenever I have both the input device and output device set to the Rubix24, none of that audio ever reaches the PC. It makes me think that there is something either blocking the use of the input, or that windows is now automatically choosing not to have the same input/output device to avoid feedback.

I don't have the "loopback" switch set on the rear of the Rubix24 so it's sending only the mic audio out via USB, not both mic + PC audio.

I can get around it by using separate devices, but the one thing I like about the Rubix24 is plugging in headphones doesn't automatically mute the main output - so I can just take the headphones off and turn the amp volume back up if my ears start to get sore or if I no longer need to use headphones.

It's had me stumped for a few days now, hopefully this isn't an isolated issue and someone else has had something similar happen!
