Windows 10: Strange behavior with accent shortcuts on UK keyboard

Hi, I'm developing an app related to shortcuts and found out this strange bug from some users as I investigated further and found out that UK keyboard can type accents by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift or Ctrl + Alt followed by any vowel ÁÉÍÓÚ, áéíóú but I cannot find any document explaining about it anywhere. Somehow, for some UK keyboard users, when you pressed all buttons ie. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + O, it only found Shift + O or Ctrl + Alt + O and it only found O which I have no clue what is the cause and it's blocking shortcuts.It happens on win10 + win11, not sure about previous versionsHere

How to configure the UK keyboard to use accented characters with only 2 key press?

I have a UK keyboard layout, but I frequently write in Portuguese, which has accented characters like á, ã, ê, ç, etc.

When using an US keyboard, it's possible to configure Windows to use the keyboard layout called US International and easily type accented characters. For example, to produce á: press the key ['] then [a].

Using the US International all the accented characters can be produced in the same way, with just 2 key press. I don't want to press more than 2 keys to get an accented character! So, please don't suggest keyboard layouts that I have to press [alt] + ['] then [a] to get the á. That's too much key presses to get a single char!

I would like to have the same behavior using the UK keyboard layout on Windows 11. What is the correct keyboard name to use on Windows 11 to get this behavior?

 

Strange behavior for grave accent with french canadian keyboard

On a "normal" french keyboard one can do a grave accent (è) by pressing ` then e, with the standard french canadian keyboard, which I have selected.

With my laptop (a 2012 ASUS with Win10) pressing the ` key produces no effect; up to now I have been doing è by doing ALT+0232.

I noticed something strange however; holding ` produces a string of those characters, like so:

Then, if I hold the key again, it produces a string of 'è' characters, like so:

What is going on? All other accents work fine.
